On Thursday, January 27th, 2011, First Nations Inuit Health will present on the revision of the Community-Based Reporting Template.
First Nations and Inuit Health’s (FNIH) Community- Based Reporting Template that is currently being used by some communities and transfer groups is undergoing a national revision. FNIH – BC Region, and National Aboriginal Organizations, received a draft from National office, to review and provide feedback on. FNIH-BC Region worked with the First Nations Health Council (FNHC) to review the draft and provide comments. It is expected that there will be one or more revision and feedback cycles before the draft is finalized. The new version will apply to the 2011-2012 fiscal year. The first round of feedback was due in a very short turn-around time, and unfortunately, there was not enough time to arrange for feedback from the communities.
Through this Learning Circle session, FNIH – BC Region would like to engage communities in a discussion around the Community Based Reporting Template (CBRT), concerns they may have with the current version, and how to improve future versions. This Learning Circle Session will give a background on what has occurred with the CBRT to date, outline some differences between the current CBRT template and the proposed new draft template and allow time for communities to have discussion with a panel of staff from FNIH-BC Region and the FNHC.
The panel of speakers will consist of:
First Nations Inuit Health
Dr. Shannon Waters – Director of Health Surveillance
Joanne Nelson – Epidemiologist
Jeffrey Yu – eHealth Regional Manager
Lorne Markin – Integrated Unit Manager
First Nations Health Council
Heather Morin
Maritia Gully
Mark Matthew
